We'll begin by covering the nuts and bolts of Print Competition.

How and where to enter- the difference between Local, State and District Competition
What is a Merit- and why does it matter?
What, exactly, do those 12 Elements really mean?
We'll review the 12 Elements in depth, examining images that both do and do not exhibit those Elements.
What is the scoring process?
What is the difference between Photographic Open and Master Artist?
How do I send in a digital versus physical image?

Join us as we discuss the current philosophies shared during January's Affiliate Jurors Refresher Meeting.

This is a great precurser to the evening meeting where we will also discuss what “tell-tale” signs Judges are trained to look for in an image. You will even have the opportunity to practice judging images yourself, it's not as easy as you think! By the time you leave you will be thinking like a Judge!

Austin Professional Photographers Association, previously PPGA, is a non-profit organization that was established in 1950 by a small group of local working photographers who were also members of the Professional Photographers of America

Our members are among the most skilled, talented, and professional photographers in the Austin and Central Texas area.

Meeting Cancellation Policy

If our monthly membership meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather, location availability, natural disasters or other practical reasons, Austin PPA will attempt to reschedule the meeting for the following week or as soon as possible. If the meeting cannot be rescheduled for a particular month, fees submitted by all registered attendees will be applied to the following month’s membership meeting. One or more email messages will be sent to all registered attendees and the general membership regarding the cancellation and available rescheduling information.
