Success in Image Competition

"COMPETITION BOOT CAMP"

With the increased interest and participation in APPA’s monthly image competition along with the new rules and format of PPA’s Merit Image Review and International Print Competition, it is time to have a formal presentation on the Who, What, When, Where and How of image competition.

The presentation will be given by two of our organization’s Master of Photography Degree holders and CPPs, Valerie Steinkoenig and Roy Nierdieck, both of whom are active competition participants and winners of numerous competitions and awards.

In the presentation, you will learn the benefits of competing, how and when to compete, the different forms of competition formats and all the rules and methods of the different organizations.

So get out of your comfort zone and do yourself and your business a huge favor and GET INTO IMAGE COMPETITION!

Each of these photographers have earned the very rare 100 score on competition images - so we all have something we can learn from them.

What is Austin Professional Photographers Association?

Austin Professional Photographers Association, previously PPGA, is a non-profit organization that was established in 1950 by a small group of local working photographers who were also members of the Professional Photographers of America

Our members are among the most skilled, talented, and professional photographers in the Austin and Central Texas area.

Meeting Cancellation Policy

If our monthly membership meeting is cancelled due to inclement weather, location availability, natural disasters or other practical reasons, Austin PPA will attempt to reschedule the meeting for the following week or as soon as possible. If the meeting cannot be rescheduled for a particular month, fees submitted by all registered attendees will be applied to the following month’s membership meeting. One or more email messages will be sent to all registered attendees and the general membership regarding the cancellation and available rescheduling information.
